Exemption from language study
In special cases, a student may get full or partial exemption from TAMK’s normal requirement to study foreign languages. The exemption can be granted by the Director of Education of the School concerned. Reasons for granting exemption include, for example, a confirmed diagnosis of dyslexia. Also, students who have received their basic schooling abroad, or in a language other than Finnish or Swedish may also have grounds for exemption from language study. Students exempted from language study must take other approved courses instead, in order to make up the required number of credit points (degree regulations §21).
